The Lodge owes it origins to some twenty-four current or former members of the National Association of Round Tables of Great Britain and Ireland (RTBI) who, also being members of the Craft, sought to perpetuate the ideals of fellowship and fraternity within the principals and tenets of Freemasonry.

The first discussions concerning the formation of the Lodge, and meetings of the Founders were held in the early part of 1968 in the Waiting Room of the Surgery of the Organising Secretary, W Bro Dr. Fred Shepherd in Southall.

A petition was submitted to Grand Lodge, with the support of the Province, late in 1968. The Petition was sponsored by Jersey Lodge No. 2163, of which some of the Petitioners were also members.

The Prayer of the Petition was duly granted by Grand Lodge and the Warrant issued on September 10th, 1969.

The Lodge was Consecrated in Temple No. 10 at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, on Monday November 24th, 1969, witnessed by a total of almost 190 Freemasons.

Membership of the Lodge is not formally restricted to members, or former members of RTBI, but the majority of the members are, whilst we are actively seeking like minded candidates to join us from similar organisations such as Rotary, Rotaract, Lions, 41 Club, etc, who are willing to embrace the RTBI motto “Adopt, Adapt, Improve !”

The Lodge celebrated the 50th Anniversary of its Consecration at their Meeting on Wedneday January 8th, 2020.
